Babacar is a lawyer and notary public with over twenty years of experience, he has worked both in public service and private practice. In public service, Babacar has served as Counsel to the Special Representative of the Executive Secretary of the Economic Community of West African States and as Legal Counsel and Advisor to the Special Advisor, of the Office of Conflict Resolution in the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria working in conflict resolution in Africa.

Now in private practice, Babacar advises local, regional, and multi-national companies, corporations, and non-profit organizations operating in Sub-Saharan Africa. Babacar is a founding partner of Barry & Asmah advises on many facets and areas of commercial law, banking and finance, and infrastructure development projects. Babacar has many years of litigation experience. Fluent in English and French, Babacar is also a specialist translator of legal documentation.
